What is OneTag?

OneTag is a single script that helps you monetize your traffic with multiple TrafficStars ad formats.

Install it once, then activate, deactivate, and configure each format directly from your TrafficStars dashboard—without repeatedly changing your website code. This makes it easier to create additional revenue opportunities and maximize the value of every visit.

Which ad formats does OneTag support?

OneTag currently supports:

  • Popunder: Opens behind the active browser window or in a separate tab after an eligible user click.
  • Interstitial: A full-page ad displayed between page views.
  • Video Slider: A video ad that slides into the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • In-Page Push: An on-page banner designed to resemble a push notification.

By combining complementary formats, you can monetize different stages of the user journey through a single integration.

How does OneTag work?

When you create a OneTag, the platform automatically generates a separate ad spot for each selected format.

All formats are delivered through one script, while each spot can be configured and analyzed separately. This gives you the simplicity of a single integration without limiting your control over individual formats.

What are the benefits of using OneTag?

OneTag allows you to:

  • Create multiple revenue streams with a single integration.
  • Increase your website’s overall RPM potential by combining complementary formats.
  • Monetize more opportunities during each user visit.
  • Configure every format separately.
  • Activate or deactivate formats without changing the script.
  • Manage all format settings from one dashboard.
  • Analyze the performance of each format individually or all formats together.
  • Reduce the technical work required to manage multiple ad integrations.

For the strongest monetization potential, we recommend starting with all available formats active. You can then use your performance data to adjust the configuration and find the right balance between revenue and user experience.

TrafficStars Tip: Once the OneTag script is installed, you can manage the full configuration directly from your TrafficStars dashboard — including supported formats and settings — without replacing the script on your website.

Can I enable or disable individual formats?

Yes. You can activate or deactivate each format independently without replacing the OneTag script.

Every active format creates an additional opportunity to generate revenue. We therefore recommend testing all available formats before deciding which combination works best for your traffic.

Can I configure each format separately?

Yes. Although all formats are delivered through one script, every spot has its own settings.

To configure a format, click the pencil icon next to it while creating or editing your OneTag.

Depending on the selected format, the available settings may include:

  • Session duration
  • Number of displays
  • Display delay
  • Position and size
  • Other format-specific options

This allows you to optimize each format while keeping the entire setup easy to manage.

Can I use OneTag on multiple websites?

Yes. You can select multiple websites when creating a OneTag, making it easier to manage monetization across several properties through one setup.

When generating or implementing the script, make sure to pass the appropriate category and Sub ID parameters. The Sub ID should dynamically identify each website or traffic source so that you can separate, compare, and optimize their performance in your statistics.

Can I install more than one OneTag on the same website?

Yes, it is technically possible to install more than one OneTag on the same website. However, each OneTag creates its own ad spots and delivery settings.

If you use multiple OneTags on the same website, carefully review their triggers, frequency caps, and overall user journey to avoid excessive or overlapping ad delivery.

In most cases, one properly configured OneTag provides the simplest way to manage several formats on the same website.

Can I use OneTag together with existing TrafficStars scripts?

Yes. OneTag can run alongside your existing TrafficStars scripts, and your current ad spots will continue to work independently.

This allows you to introduce OneTag without rebuilding your existing monetization setup. However, we recommend reviewing the delivery settings and frequency caps of all active spots to prevent unnecessary overlap.

Can I add an existing ad spot to OneTag?

No. Existing ad spots cannot be added to a OneTag configuration.

When you create a OneTag, the platform automatically creates new spot IDs for all selected formats. Your existing spots remain separate and continue to work independently.

How are the spot settings managed?

All spot settings are managed directly from the TrafficStars platform.

While creating or editing a OneTag, click the pencil icon next to a format to configure its settings separately. Any saved changes are applied automatically, allowing you to optimize your setup without additional development work.

Where can I track OneTag performance and revenue?

Go to Advanced Custom Statistics and filter the report by the spots created under your OneTag.

You can:

  • Select one spot to evaluate a specific format.
  • Compare the performance of different formats.
  • Select all OneTag spots to view their combined performance and revenue.
  • Use Sub IDs to compare individual websites or traffic sources.

Reviewing both individual and combined results helps you understand how each format contributes to your total revenue and overall RPM.

Does changing the settings require replacing the script?

No. Changes made to your OneTag or its individual format settings are applied automatically.

You do not need to replace, reinstall, or modify the script after updating the settings in your dashboard. This makes it easy to test new configurations and optimize performance without making additional changes to your website.
